November at DHS

As the calendar turns to November, Danvers High School students and staff are gearing up for a number of events, celebrations and academic mile markers.

Our first academic quarter ends on Thursday, November 6, 2014.  Students have been busily working to ensure that their grades are in top form, studying for quarter end tests and quizzes.  The new quarter provides an opportunity to begin anew.   Honor roll certificates will be distributed just prior to Thanksgiving.

Our successful fall sports season comes to a close in November, and we thank all of our coaches and athletes for an exciting season.  We are looking forward to winter sports, beginning in early December. The always-popular PEP RALLY will be held just prior to the Thanksgiving Break on the 26th.

Our Academy Theater will offer, “Dancing at Lughnasa” on November 13-15 at 7:30 PM and on November 16 at 2 PM.  Tickets are $5.00 per student and $10.00 for adults and can be obtained at  The play, written in 1990,  is a memoir set in 1936 in Ireland’s County Donegal. It’s been a very popular Broadway play, having won a Tony award! There is no doubt that our DHS rendition will be equally as outstanding!

DECA students will soon be presenting at the Regional Conference, and as always, we are confident that they will continue to win accolades and awards for their in-depth practices and business plans.

Senior students are almost finished with those all important essays, and an increasing number of members of the Class of 2015 have completed their college application process.

Enjoy the scents, sights and sounds of the holiday season.
